Vermicularia lumbricalis

Florida Worm Snail

Shell size to 80 mm; shell similar to Vermicularia fargoi, but whorls smooth. Coiled (juvenile) stage ("turritella") about 4.5 mm long, white, with a peripheral keel. Uncoiled shell color light-brownish. The supplementary illustration shows a young Florida Worm Snail collected in 2018 by Kimberly Nealon, Bowman's Beach, Sanibel.
