Nassarius sp.

Shell size to 14 mm; shell stubby, thick-walled, with about five shouldered whorls. Spire elevated. Sculpture of 8-12 axial ribs crossed by cordlets of variable size. Color white or light tan. Protoconch (supplementary image) with 1.5-2 whorls. This species seems to occur only in the Gulf of Mexico (M. Krisberg, pers. co)
